A content management system (CMS) is software that helps you create and manage content for your website using a human friendly interface, rather than needing to work directly with the code. Basically CMS code makes managing a website much easier as it takes your input and turns it into a functioning website for your visitors.
WordPress is a content management system (CMS) software that allows you to edit and manage the content on your website. It’s open-sourced and community developed, meaning the software is free to use and constantly updated.
We believe WordPress is currently the best CMS available for small businesses, when used correctly. Alot of users just use a pre-done theme with generic plugins and hope for the best, which gives WordPress a bad reputation. We build each website from the ground up using our exclusive webizy framework plugin which adds the exact features we need to build custom made websites.
Every WordPress website has to use themes & plugins. We utilise a base theme & builder called Divi by Elegant Themes for all our websites which allows complete customisation to the website, greater security and faster load-times. We also use third-party plugins to further help the functionality of the website e.g. premium security and image optimisation. The theme/plugins can be accessed and seen through the WordPress interface.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Search engine optimisation, or SEO, is the process of improving a website’s rank on search engines like Google. Having your website show up higher than your competitors on these services often leads to more visitors (and potential customers!). While there are standard techniques used to help improve your sites position in Google’s search results, SEO techniques are fairly subjective and can be thought of as an artform. Our SEO features are designed to provide the biggest impact at prices that make sense for small business – which means we focused 100% of our effort on Local SEO i.e. getting your website ranked higher for geo-targeted keywords and in Google Maps.
100% there needs to be a base setup to allow Google to show your website in its search results. Many people are surprised to learn SEO isn’t a single process that takes place. Google has thousands of different factors it weighs in order to rank your website. Your websites silo structure, how fast your site loads, ease of use on mobile, how long people stay on your site, how many links both internally & externally are found for your site, is your Google My Business listing optimised (for higher ranking on Google Maps) and more are all taken into consideration.
Yes. All our websites are built using optimal SEO guidelines. Our Growth plan includes SEO Content Optimisation and is perfect for small businesses looking for an extra ‘marketing’ push that will help increase visitors in the long run. We’ll perform keyword & competitor analysis and make content modifications when appropriate to help improve your ranking. The Growth plan also includes Local Search Optimisation where we’ll list/optimise your business on “Google My Business” and other major directories. This can also be a good way to gain visibility if your business operates within a small geographical area.
Negative. No one can make you this guarantee. And if they do, run for the hills! They typically use ‘black hat’ techniques that can penalise your website or even get you removed from Google. Every business’s circumstances are unique and the outcome of every SEO campaign is different. A more realistic goal is to have your website show up on the first page of Google results for your targeted keywords – which is determined during the initial research and analysis part of the SEO campaign.
Contact us immediately. Although this shouldn’t happen as each website in our package has 24/7 up-time monitoring in place, so situations may slip under the radar. But If your site is hosted with us, we can almost always resolve the issue with a single phone call or email.
Negative, as long as you’re on a monthly plan with us, there is no charge for technical support.
We try our best to respond to all emails ASAP, which is usually within 2 hours (if during normal business hours).
Web hosting refers to the server which responds to requests to view your website. It’s simply another computer connected to the Internet for the sole purpose of showing your website to users. Any time you visit a website, there is another computer somewhere in the world you connect to in order to view it.
Yes. This is what makes your website accessible through the Internet. All of our plans include fully-managed web hosting as part of the package. So you have nothing to worry about.
No, but for very good reason. We have found that private emails from most web hosts are inferior to providers like Google and gives you a bare minimum email system. There often isn’t proper spam controls or fraud and virus protection and you’re given a very limited amount of storage space. We recommend Google as they provide a level of service almost nobody can match. We can help set you up emails for no additional charge.
A domain name is a phrase used to access your website, often”yourbusinessname.com.au” – this can be viewed as your virtual property. Every computer connected to the Internet has a long string of unique numbers used to identify itself called an “IP address”. Without a domain name, you would need to remember the IP address in order to view a website. Domain names are purchased using a “registrar” which acts like a phone book. When someone types in your domain name, behind the scenes your registrar will look up your domain for them and return your IP address back. Their computer will then know where to find your website.
If you don’t have a domain name, we can purchase and register one on your behalf at no additional charge. As long as you’re on one of our plans, we will automatically renew your domain for you annually.
